Well, as I am a scrooge, let’s first look at the price.  Oh, wait, we can’t immediately look at it because it is “too low to display”.  However, I can tell you the price of this Samsung LN46C630 right now on Amazon–$799–for an amazing 46 inch flat panel from Samsung. 

The TV section of Consumer Reports has labelled this Samsung a must buy for not only price but performance and on Amazon it has nearly a perfect rating from the 195 people who have reviewed it.

I can’t wait for this Samsung LCD TV to arrive in the mail today. 

It was a glorious game if you are a Laker fan.

So, we are doing a work poll about who will win the Superbowl and I have to make my picks which will hopefull make me some money.  The pool is $50 dollars to get in but it’s fun and worth the cost of admission.  Plus, the winner gets over $2,000. 

That said, I can pick bigger point spreads and get more squares in the pool for my $50.  So, even though I think that the Superbowl might be close, I am going with some long shots. 

Jim, who sits right next to me, tells me that this is a stupid strategy.  We all have to be at the office on Sunday for a technical migration so Jim is researching how to watch the Superbowl online right now so that we can see the Superbowl live on our computers.

And, we’ll have a big pot of cash next to us which someone will take home.  I hope that it is me because $2,000 is nothing to sneeze at.

Thus, I am going Packers as a long shot and I get three squares on the board!

My other choice of late has been to put my money in the market and lose it! 

Anyway, I began reinvestigating what were the differences between LCDs and Plasmas and I find out a fact that I did not know.

I had no idea that this was the case but, perhaps, over the life of the LCD TV, I will have almost paid for it.

Thus, I am looking at a list of the best LCD televisions for my garage and I will make my purchase soon…and I will be using less electricity with my purchase!

Seriouly, I don´t know why but the Holidays begin for me early and nothing gets me more in the mood than the latest Christmas music.  On this list of Christmas classics, I have already found many that I have begun downloading. 

The first on the list and my favorite over the long haul is The Christmas Song by Nat King Cole.  As one of the latest reviewers quipped:

Really, any great Christmas music that spans time is what I am after…no American Idol contestants right now. I want the classics and you will find many on this list.

I suggest you get started with your Holiday music right now too. If you are searching for great Christmas ideas, music should always come in the number one spot. Because, in the end, Christmas lasts for just one day. But if you start early, you can turn Christmas into an event that will last months!

Thus, for about $100 or $200, I get a new laptop every year.

This year I am concentrating on laptops that have HDMI.  Have a look here if you want to know what does HDMI stand for and find out more about the technology.

Essentially, you need an HDMI interface on your laptop to connect with new devices like LCD TVs as I previously wrote about.  As Olga says in New Laptop and HDMI, the beauty of HDMI is that it carries BOTH the audio and video signal which allows you to simply use one cable to connect your PC to your TV.

This is a great thing if you want to view your computer output on the TV which I have done and want to continue to do.

Thus, the answer to the question of the post is, Yes, absolutely, you need HDMI on your laptop if you want to be prepared for the future of technology!

However, this time is what not at our house.  Bob, in the house across the way, was doing the BBQ.  He took me aside and confessed that he had no idea how to cook a steak and that he needed some assistance with this. 

Ah, I wondered, how does someone make it this far in life without learning how to cook a juicy New York Steak.  Well, it turns out that Bob comes from a rather privileged background and thus his steaks were all cooked for him.  I would have never guessed this as Bob is one of the most humble people that you would ever meet.

Anyway, so I took Bob through the cooking steak process:  how to prepare the meat, how to get those extra juices in with a little Worcestershire, and how to cook it once on the grill depending on the fire.

This was going to be a mighty assignment for Bob–cooking steak for a whole party of people is not exactly what you want to do the first time that you are cooking steak.  But, nonetheless, that is exactly what Bob did and he did it very weel.

In the end, Bob cooked Steak For All 40 some odd people and did it very well!

And, if truth be told, I do too.

I have never been a gamer but I absolutely love this console.  Personally, I am a fan of the all of the sports game, especially Tiger Woods golf.  Though Tiger Woods has slipped a bit lately, his Wii Golf game still rules and helps you think a good bit about the game of golf.

Also, my daughter have Wii Tennis duels all the time. 

Suffice it to say, it has brought out the inner-child in me…not that it needed to much help.  And, each morning when we play, we are all left feeling Wii Tastic!

You see…I know that I will be getting a new LCD TV for Christmas and this thing is going to rock. I have researched it thoroughly and will be enjoying the heck out of this thing.

But the one piece that I am really excited about is hooking the laptop up to my new LCD TV. This will make for a huge computer monitor and allow me to watch the movies that are now just sitting on my computer. I had to hit the Internet and ask how do i connect my laptop to my TV to find out information on how to do this.

It’s pretty easy but one essential thing that you need to know is the difference between HDMI and DVI.  Does your computer have either or both?  If you have HDMI, which I do , your setup will rock.  One small cable brings you both video and sound.

If you are stuck with DVI or VGA though, you can still accomplish this too.

Give it consideration because using your laptop with your LCD TV is something that is pretty damn cool!

Yesterday, on a lazy Sunday, as I was milling about, I heard an old country song and realized that I have not been listening to country music as I often use to.  In fact, I had forgotten all about it as I have been listening to all sorts of other music.

I remember my old days when I would listen to the likes of Johnny Cash and just be diggin on the great voices and stories within the songs.  But then, the country music scene became a bit stale as all of these teeny bopper cross-overs from American Idol were hitting up the  top country music and I kind of lost interest.

But now, I have read in a A Tale of Dolly Parton that the big names from the older years are coming back.  In fact, Dolly’s classic hit Jolie has found itself #1 on the charts.  I love this song and it has re-ignited my interest in country music.

Which is great, because I now remember the value of country music and have it back in my life!
